Elderton Merlot, 2001

One of my favorite wineries from Australia.

I have worked with Alistor Ashmead, owner of this winery, and he has made some great wines over the past 20 years. Check out one of the finest Shiraz made in all of Australia with Elderton's Shiraz "Command", if you want something spectacular.

Elderton Merlot Barossa, 2001
Brick red in color. Wonderful nose of rich, ripe fruit; sweet cherries and spice. Really velvety on the palate, fruit carries but is slightly fading. Makes for an elegant drink. Some minty notes. Cherry continues onto the smooth finish. Have with food. Very tasty.
