VintageVino Pick of the Day: Peirano Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2006

Here's a juicy, dark fruit filled little number. If you like cabs that are affordable, 100% cabernet, approachable and easy to drink tonight! then this is the wine for you. Comes from the Peirano Estate, which was founded in 1895, and is located in the warmer interior-Cali growing region of Lodi. The vines for this wines are about 30 years old, according to their website. Shows some good dark fruit, but the tannins are in check, and this wine goes the distance for only about $11.
