Hey... Mr. Will again. I recently tried a bottle of St. Francis Zinfandel, Sonoma, 2005. The description on the back described it as "old world style." What does that mean?It ended up being unlike any Zinfandel that I have had before, as it had a really strong pepper finish. Usually (with Zinfandel) I can pick up some vanilla, dark berry, and perhaps a bit of oak from the barrel. This wine was very muted, except for the above mentioned massive pepper taste. Does this have to do with the "old vines," and "old world style," that the description mentioned?
