Featured today in the Hartford Courant Food Section - the classic Daiquiri - my drink! I have been enjoying these all Spring, they are sooo good and refreshing and simple to make. I like them with a slightly aged rum - such as Brekshire Mountain Distillers made right up the road in Great Barrington, MA by Chris Weld. This rum makes well balanced and delicious daiquiris, but you can use white rums such Rhum JM from Martinique (100 proof so whatch yourself) or any of the multitude of great rums available on the market. The Daiquiri is the cornerstone of "Classic" cocktails - try one this weekend.
